Lest we forget

I'm not a fan of war but if it wasn't for those old diggers Australia would be a very different place now and likely have a different native language.
So salute to the old diggers on one of Australia's most sacred days, ANZAC day.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

Thanks mate, it's strange.. I dont have much of a personal relationship to the day.
My Grandfather fought in WW2 but he died of cancer when my mother was 12 so I obviously never met him. Have some of his war possessions, trench art etc.
It's one of those days that stirs up certain feelings though.
Never missed a dawn service yet :)

My grandfather was a medic/dentist during the war, My grandmother was manufacturing uniforms. Now the other two grandfolk, One was German and the other Polish. Though there was never any conflicts of interest within my family and I met them all.

Discussing this in 2013, you'd think something to this magnitude will never happen again.

Everyone who lives here in Australia need to consider what our soldiers went through.
