yes but is have you copy the linux_server from ida dbgserver dir to the vmware distro and runned the line

sudo ./linux_server64

edit you have to use the linux_server not the x64 one

yea, of course:


this is my step:
1: run virtual-machine (bactrack).
2: press command(on root): ./linux_server
3: open IDA on windows, click "Debugger -> Attach -> Remote Linux", like this:

then click "OK"
4: the error come...

what ida version are you using (demo or full)
also can you try the ida 6.1 version that i used in my example.
Could be that they did something to the server signals

aw, thanks god, i did it.
just fill ur ip address (see in #ifconfig command) in hostname entry, done!
