Speaking of (as Libretro) "bloaty Java-based pieces of shit OS", my S3 got partially replaced in mid-August (the base unit was replaced but the battery lid wasn't) after dropping my phone and it getting submerged in water as well and I finally decided to root it for the Freedom APK and the custom ROMs/recovery images.
